Lollo Park
Detroit, MI (2014-2016)

Lollo Park is a small neighborhood park on Puritan Avenue in northwest Detroit. Thanks to neighborhood champions and an array of funders, Lollo Park has seen major improvements in recent years and continues to be a gathering space for the Fitzgerald community. DCDC worked with neighborhood leaders to help secure funding and design improvements to the park which include a walking path, new playscape, and furniture. A grant from Ford College Commmunity Challenge (FordC3) and leadership from the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS) contributed to the integration of ecological features such as a rain garden, native planting, recycled content furniture and educational signs.
