Fitzgerald Revitalization Plan
Detroit, MI (2016)
The Fitzgerald Revitalization Project is an initiative led by the City of Detroit to stabilize and strengthen the neighborhood by transforming publicly-owned vacant land and structures from liabilities into
community assets. The Landscape Framework Plan for all vacant properties in the neighborhood was developed over the course of five months, incorporating resident feedback through community and block club meetings. The types of landscapes proposed will beautify the vacant lots in the neighborhood and are cost effective, hearty and low maintenance to ensure long term vitality. Spackman Mossop Michaels led the design process and DCDC advised on design and community engagement.
