Matthew Medley

Matthew Medley is a Project Director at the Detroit Collaborative Design Center (DCDC). He joined the DCDC full-time in June of 2024 to lead a grant through Department of Energy that the University received to work on energy improvements. Previously Matthew worked for SmithGroup in the Building Technology group that specialized on the Exterior Envelope. Some of the work there included Energy Analysis, Construction Documents, Field Testing, and Construction Administration. 

Matthew holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture. While attending the University of Detroit Mercy, Matthew worked for the DCDC for both of his co-op experiences. Prior to Architecture school, Matthew worked in Construction and has also served as an Administrator for a K-12 school in Detroit, handling HR, Staff compliance, payables, budget development, working with the School Board, and the Superintendent. Matthew looks forward to bringing his knowledge of the building envelope, attention to detail, and craft to help support communities.
